Gooey Chocolate Brownies

  • 150 grams salted butter
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 200 grams milk chocolate low FODMAP per serving
  • 1/2 cup low FODMAP plain flour
  • 1/4 cup almond meal
  • 1 tsp vanilla essense
  • pinch salt


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius fan forced and grease a standard square baking tin.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, melt the butter and chocolate together in the microwave.

  3. Add the sugars and eggs and whisk until well combined.

  4. Sift in the cacao and plain flour, and add the almond meal, salt and vanilla. Stir until a smooth batter forms.

  5. Pour the batter into the greased tin and bake in the oven for approximately 10 minutes or until the brownies are cracked on the top and do not collapse completely when you poke the top.
