Chocolate Waffles (Low FODMAP, Dairy Free)

  • 1 large banana
  • 3/4 cup gluten free rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp cacao
  • 2/3 cup low FODMAP milk
  • 1/4 cup cornflour
  • pinch salt
  • splash water, if needed

Toppings (optional)

  • cacao nibs
  • nut butter
  • fresh or frozen fruit
  • yoghurt of choice


  1. In a high speed blender, blitz the oats until they become a flour.

  2. Turn on your waffle iron to begin heating.

  3. Add the banana, oat flour, cacao, milk, cornflour and salt to a food processor or high speed blender and blend until combined. Add a splash of water if the mixture will not process because it's too thick.

  4. Divide the mixture into three and pour into the waffle iron and cook until it is indicated that they are ready (cooking time and the amount of mixture you need may vary depending on your waffle iron).

  5. Remove from the waffle iron and top with toppings of your choice.
